# Dark Crafter Guide

### Overview

The Dark Crafter NPC lets you craft powerful equipment, shadow accessories, and shadow weapons. Some recipes have a chance of failure — on failure, all materials (except catalysts) are consumed. Choose wisely before you craft!

Location: Morroc Paradise (`moc_para01 16, 22`)

### How It Works

1. Talk to the Dark Crafter and choose a crafting category.
2. Select the item you want to craft from the shop window (select only 1 at a time).
3. The NPC will display the required materials, Activity Points cost, and success chance.
4. If you have all the requirements, confirm to attempt the craft.

#### Important Mechanics

* Materials are consumed on every attempt, whether you succeed or fail.
* Catalyst items are NOT consumed on failure — they are only consumed on a successful craft.
* Catalyst restriction: You must have exactly the required amount of the catalyst in your inventory (no extras). If you have more, the NPC will refuse the craft until you store the extras.
* Activity Points are consumed on every attempt.
* Successful crafts are announced server-wide.

### Tips

* Shadow Accessories and Shadow Weapons are 100% success — as long as you gather the materials, you're guaranteed the craft.
* Shadow Garb is the only recipe with a failure chance (60%) — be prepared to lose materials on a failed attempt. The Valkyrian Manteau catalyst is safe on failure, so you only need one.
* Catalyst items are safe on failure. For the Shadow Garb recipe, your Valkyrian Manteau will be returned if the craft fails. Only keep the exact required amount in your inventory.
* Activity Points are always consumed, so make sure you have enough before attempting.
* Nightmare Fragments are boss-specific drops — check which fragments your desired weapon needs and farm accordingly.
* You can only craft 1 item per attempt — the shop enforces a max quantity of 1.
